Surprising Benefits of Author Visits

As students arrive at my Bugs and Blooms and Insects Make WHAT?! programs, Abee and I go around and greet the students.
At the end of Friday's author visit one of the staff members let me know that a child who is terrified of bees reached out and pet Abee.
It's not only books that can help children overcome fears. Abee, a giant honey bee, can help, too!
Annette Whipple celebrates curiosity and inspires others through her words—written and spoken. She is a speaker and children’s author of a dozen children's nonfiction books. However, the people who know Annette best think of her as a wife and mom, former teacher, nature lover, chocolate chip cookie baker (and sometimes burner) who lives in Pennsylvania.
