part in World Read Aloud Day (WRAD).
Authors and illustrators volunteer to chat with students (but teachers need to make it happen by signing up for a time).
These virtual author visits are short and simple. A sample schedule might be
1-2 minutes: Author gives a quick introduction and talks a little about their books.
3-5 minutes: Author reads aloud a short picture book or a short excerpt from a chapter book/novel.
5-10 minutes: Author answers a few questions from students about reading/writing.
1-2 minutes: Author book-talks a couple books they love (but didn’t write!) as recommendations for the kids.

Is this something you're interested in? Visit Kate Messner's blog post to see all the authors and illustrators participating. I'm one of them, but there are tons!
FYI, I live in Pennsylvania which is Eastern Standard Time. Currently I'm booking between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. If those times don't work for you, please mention your desire to work with me when you email. If I can fit your class into my day, I will.
Please note: I only offer one free WRAD visit per school. BUT I'm happy to meet with all of your students all day long with a regular virtual author visit.
Happy reading! Happy writing!
